About Scott Benjamin

Academic Background 
Scott is a 4th year Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Maryland in Strategic Management & Entrepreneurship.  His areas of research include the study of non-market externalities on innovation adoption, social value entrepreneurship and negotiation training.  In addition to his teaching responsibilities at the University of Maryland, he is also an adjunct faculty member at George Mason University where he teaches the capstone strategic management course.

Professional Background 
Scott was the CEO of Health and Radiological Seminars, Inc., a medical consulting firm, providing nuclear cardiology education to cardiology fellowship training programs across the United States. 

Scott is a Principal with Signature Properties, a real estate investment and development firm, specializing in multi-family residential development and land subdivision projects in Maryland.

As an entrepreneur, Scott has also enjoyed owning and operating several restaurants in Annapolis, Maryland, and is currently an angel investor in numerous projects.  His business background has enabled data sourcing, classroom case writing and academic program management for entrepreneurship centers.

Education and Community Involvement  
Scott holds an M.B.A. from the University of Maryland in Entrepreneurship and a B.B.A. in Entrepreneurship from the University of Miami.  Scott has been active in his community as a wish grantor with The Make-A-Wish Foundation. He serves as a committee member at Rockbridge Academy and will begin his ninth year as a coach for competitive youth soccer in the fall.  Scott lives with his wife and two children in Crofton, Maryland.
